Galpin Auto Sports (G.A.S.) - Van Nuys

2018 WSATI Southern Chapter President Jeff Enfield (LASD / TRAP) welcomed everyone to the meeting at the Galpin Auto Sports, in Van Nuy.   This is one of the most popular venues for WSATI.

Jeff requested that Mick O'Neill (Hagerty Insurance SIU) lead the attendees in the pledge of allegiance.

Jeff introduced the other Southern Chapter Officers who were in attendance:

Vice President Mick O'Neill (Hagerty Insurance SIU)
Secretary Johnny Miyasaki (Long Beach Police)
Treasurer Melissa Somers (CPP of SoCal)
Sergeant-At-Arms Mike Carnakis (LASD / TRAP)
Associate Director Joe Starbird (Long Beach Police)
Associate Director Rob Midzuno (Nationwide Insurance SIU)
Past President Heather Roberts (Liberty Mutual SIU)
Legal Counsel Richard Knapp (Knapp & Spurlock, LLP)

Associate Director Alan Skobin (LASD/TRAP) could not attend the meeting due to business commitments.

WSATI Southern Chapter Past Presidents who were in attendance:

Dennis Frias (1997), Gary Labb (2000), Lou Koven (2002), Rob Manning (2013), Tim Jackson (2014), Brian Yori (2016), and Heather Roberts (2017)

Following the presentation, Jeff announced that the 2018 WSATI Training Seminar, hosted by the Northern Chapter, will take place October 8-10, 2018, at the Mont Bleu Resort in South Lake Tahoe.  He said that information regarding the Seminar will soon be posted on the WSATI website.

Jeff invited those who purchased luncheon tickets to enjoy their lunch while networking with the others in the room.  The attendees were able to enjoy an abundant amount of great food provided by Galpin Auto Sports' Catering.  To say that everyone enjoyed their meal is an understatement.

Following the luncheon, the raffle was conducted by Mick O'Neill and Chapter Officers.  The raffle helps raise money for WSATI funds that assist in putting on future seminars, as well as supporting events such as the San Diego and Orange County ATAC Vehicle Theft Recovery Officer of the Year programs.

There were several new faces that came to the meeting, as well as several "old" members who had not been to the meetings in some time.  Thank you all for your attendance.

Jeff announced the next meeting / luncheon would be held on May 17, 2018.  The Guest Speaker and location have not yet been confirmed.  Please check back here for the future posting of the Guest Speaker information and meeting location.

The meeting was adjourned.
