May 24th-28th, 2010
The Seminar began with early registration taking place
the afternoon of Monday, May 24, 2010, and late registration taking place
on Tuesday morning, May 25, 2010. A big thank you to WSATI Southern
Chapter Treasurer Rob Manning for the great
job he did processing the pre-registrations prior to the Seminar and for
processing the "walk-in" registrants at the Seminar. Rob handled
all the bookkeeping for the Seminar as well in the confines of the Seminar
office, out of sight of most of the attendees. Most of the attendees
had the opportunity to see Terry Cramer, Terry
Cramer (yes...Terry and his wife, Terry), Martha
Jones, Gary Labb, Cherryl
Valdez, and Geraldine Ward at the registration
table. If you purchased raffle tickets or WSATIwear, the attendees
had the chance to see Dave Ball, Tim
Glover, Stephanie Hile, Tim
Jackson, Delia Loera, Dave
Petrelli, Jeff Reeves, Chris
Wiggins, and Brian Yori. It takes
a lot of people to put on a seminar the size of this one.
The seminar opened on Tuesday morning with the California Highway Patrol Border Division Honor Guard presenting the colors while the National Anthem was played. 2010 Southern Chapter President John Bartolone (DMV Investigations - Artesia) presided over the opening ceremonies and welcomed the close to 325 attendees. John then introduced San Diego County Sheriff's Department Chaplain Bill Trok who gave the invocation. Following the invocation, John introduced IAATI 2nd Vice President Joe Brosius. John then introduced San Diego Police Department Captain Jim Collins, Investigations Division. John then introduced San Diego County Sheriff's Department Commander Ed Prendergast. John then introduced CHP Border Division Chief Gary
Dominguez.
The Keynote Speaker was Kathryn
Door, Chief of Investigations, California Department of Motor Vehicles.
Following Ms. Door's address, John ended the opening ceremonies and invited all to take part in the training sessions that would immediately follow. 2010 WSATI SOUTHERN CHAPTER OFFICERS
